I guess it's catching....
Sitting on the third row at church this Sunday, Asa (who just turned 4) launched into a series of serious (and loudly asked) questions about God. The conversation went something like this (yelled above the worship music, of course):
"Mommy, is this someone's house?"
"Well, sort of. We call it God's house."
"So, this is where God lives?"
"Not exactly."
"Is God here?"
"Yes."
"Is He always here?"
"Hmmmmmm...well......hey, Ace, why don't we just sing?"
"But, where is God?"
"Everywhere, and in the hearts of people who love Him."
Asa looked around at the crowd of people with their hands and voices raised, took a thoughtful glance at the stage where the worship leaders stood, and then looked at me and replied,
"This is where God is."

Spiritually Speaking......
It seems that spiritual matters have really been on Ethan's mind lately.
When we were in the car yesterday he started asking me about heaven. I told him that all of the people who love Jesus will be there.
He proudly proclaimed, "I love Jesus!"
"You do?" I asked him.
"Of course I do, Mommy" he replied matter-of-factly, "I'm a Christian."
Just for clarification I went through an abridged Gospel speech, to which he replied, "I know all of that and I believe all of it and I thank Jesus all the time for dying on the cross to save me from my sins."
Well, it sounded pretty sure to me so I went on, "That's great Ethan! Do you know what that means? It means that you can be baptized now!"
Without a moment's hesitation he responded with an excited, "But I've already been baptized, Mommy!"
"You have?" I asked, confused.
"Yep!", he replied proudly, "I baptized myself in the bathtub!"
This morning I heard him humming a soft tune and asked him what he was singing.
"Just a song I am making up," he said.
"Can you sing it for me?" I inquired.
He did, a few times. Each time it changed a little but the final product was something like this:
Jesus is in my whole heart.
He made the universe and He made me.
I thank Him every day for being my Savior.
The whole Earth sings.
Because Jesus loves us.
The tune was actually really nice and I hope to get the video camera out soon to have a record of his song to add as a bonus track on his first CD!
